Michelle Collins said she won’t rule out signing up to take part in Strictly Come Dancing

The former soap star has just finished a musical theatre tour of the UK

SOAP star Michelle Collins has admitted that she hasn’t ruled out being a contestant on Strictly Come Dancing.

The former EastEnders and Coronation Street star was tipped to be one of the celebrities on the BBC ballroom dancing show back in 2014.

She has recently finished a six-week run starring in the UK tour of Thoroughly Modern Millie as Mrs Meers alongside Strictly Come Dancing professional Joanne Clifton as Millie.

Joanne won the last series of the show with BBC presenter Ore Oduba, and Michelle said she asked her about the show.

And speaking to Christine Lampard who is sitting in for Lorraine on her morning chat show this week, Michelle said she wouldn’t rule out taking part herself.

She said: “We hardly spoke about Strictly, it was really weird actually! But I did say to her, who is the worst judge, who’s the horrible judge – I won’t tell you what she said! Ha, oh she said they’re all lovely.

Michelle is best known for playing Cindy Beale in EastEnders from 1988 to 1998, reprising the role again in 2014.

 

She also starred as Stella Price in Coronation Street from 2011 to 2014 and then took part in Bear Grylls: Mission Survive last year.

Michelle about to return to theatre with her new play A Dark Night in Dalston opening at the Park Theatre in Finsbury Park next week.
