Pete Wicks bends over in pain as he reveals injury – days after starting training for Strictly Come Dancing
Pete Wicks might just be getting to grips with the ballroom basics, but it seems he's already hurt himself with an unfortunate injury.
The Only Way Is Essex star Pete joined up with close pal Sam Thompson, with the pair larking around as usual.
After Sam sang the infamous Strictly theme tune and Pete showed off a few steps, he then appeared to hurt his groin as he exclaimed, "I've done me groin!"
Bouncing back from his temporary injury, the couple then continued with their typical jokes and teasing.
Sam jibed, "You don't look much like your Strictly picture".
"Yeah it's from five years ago, it's from the calendar years," joked Pete.
More on Strictly Come Dancing
Pete's place in the Strictly line up was confirmed this week, with him becoming the first Towie star to ever take part in the BBC One competition.
The Strictly Come Dancing news was revealed live on Kiss FM, with Pete saying: "It's a mixture of excited and absolutely petrified, it's fear, you can see straight into my soul."
Away from reality TV Pete hosts podcast Staying Relevant with best mate Sam Thompson.
Revealing Sam's reaction to the news, Pete continued: "Sam's planned every Saturday he will be at the show, Sam is the one person who will be there every single Saturday.
"He's making t-shirts, the guy really needs to get a life."
This will be the third time Sam Thompson has been cheering on a close pal for Strictly, as he previously supported Made In Chelsea pal Jamie Laing when he competed in 2020 and his girlfriend Zara McDermott competed last year in 2023.
The Strictly announcement also comes after it was revealed that Pete has been forced to close two of his companies after racking up £1million debts.
One of his businesses owed a total of debts reaching over £180k, with another racking up significant losses before it went into liquidation on 13 November 2023 owing £795,463.
