Mary Berry’s new cooking show Everyday blasted as ‘too posh’ as she makes lobster and langoustines in episode one

TELLY viewers scoffed at Mary Berry’s boasts her new recipe show is all about everyday grub when the first episode featured posh nosh.

The ex-Bake Off queen, 81, prepared pricey lobster and Scottish langoustines.

A salmon dish was served Japanese-style.

And even the cottage pie she rustled up on her new BBC2 show Everyday was made from venison.

Fans slammed the recipes on Twitter after the show was plugged with the claim: “You don’t need an exotic larder or a chef’s repertoire to create delicious dishes every night of the week.”

Ally Rose asked: “In which world is using minced venison to make cottage pie an ‘everyday food’?”

Emma Marron said: “As much as I love Mary Berry, I’m not convinced langoustine are ‘everyday food’.”

Another viewer taken aback by a pudding Mary made out of cream, raspberries and Scotch tweeted: “Everyday??? Venison, salmon and whiskey?

“Not in our house Mary Berry!”

During the show Mary described freshly caught langoustines as “the cream of the crop when it comes to prawns” and the “most valuable catch in Scotland”.

As she prepared her alcoholic dessert she declared she was “never without a bottle of whisky”.
