Jungle Queen Scarlett Moffatt handed prime-time TV series after helping Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway ratings boom

SCARLETT Moffatt has been handed a prime-time TV series after helping Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway to a ratings boom.

The former Gogglebox star, 26, secretly filmed a pilot for Channel 4 called The Comedy Project, which could air this year on Friday nights.

Filmed in front of a live audience at Pinewood Studios, she appears in a number of sketches alongside impressionists, improvisers and character comedians.

A source revealed: “Scarlett is now in huge demand from the TV industry.

“Channel 4 feel they created her through Gogglebox and don’t want to lose her to ITV.

“She was the first celebrity who they approached to do the pilot for The Comedy Project, which is likely to become a big show for them.”

Scarlett was given a Surprise Surprise-style segment on Saturday Night Takeaway at the weekend, collecting two viewers from their home and flying them to the studio by helicopter.

Her appearance helped the ITV show to its best ratings in 12 years, with a live peak audience of 8.7million.

The Queen of the Jungle has already been hired by Channel 4 to relaunch its dating show Streetmate and is also working on an entertainment series with Alan Carr.

And bosses are keen to keep the rising star busy.

A promo document about The Comedy Project, seen by The Sun, said: “They’ll have no idea what is going to happen from one moment to the next."
