He's settled into  since moving over last December for his new Virgin Radio UK show.

Ryan bid farewell to Ireland a year ago as he signed off from The Late Late Show after 14 years.

The  native recently reflected on the past year of his life.

He wrote in his column: "I hit 51 on Tuesday and found myself reflecting on an erratic year that was strewn with curveballs and kindness. I learnt an awful lot in an awful way."

He added: "The Christmas card list was shortened, for sure, but there were countless positives. The London experience has exceeded all my expectations and I’ve made a heap of new friends and colleagues along the way both on Virgin Radio and in Ireland with Q102 and associated stations around the country."

Listeners can usually catch TFI Fridays legend Chris from 6.30am to 10am on Virgin Radio.

But last week, they were treated to DJ Nick Grimshaw, who left his drive time slot with BBC Radio 1 back in 2021.
