Who is Sara Bareilles?
Sara Bareilles is a 37-year-old singer/songwriter who has become known for performing her own material - often with a band and acoustic guitar.
During her career, Sara has sole nine million singles and one million albums - earning five Grammy nominations throughout her career.
She has also previously tried her hand at acting, taking on the role of Ariel in a 2016 stage production of The Little Mermaid.
In 2017, she's been seen as Jenna in a production of Waitress on Broadway.
The California native has four albums during her career - the last being 2013's The Blessed Unrest in 2013.
Sara's most famed hits in the UK is the 2007 chart-topper Love Song, and the 2013 single Brave - which was used as part of the Disney and Pixar film of the same name.
What song will Sara be performing at the show?
It is yet to be announced what song Sara will be performing at the show - but it promises to be a tearjerker.
Academy Awards producers announced her performance and said in a statement: “Sara’s unique artistry will honor those we’ve lost in our community including familiar faces and those behind the scenes who have enriched the art of movie-making."
After Sara's performance, and extended gallery of memorial photos - totalling more than 200 of Hollywood's lost - will be recognised on the Oscars.
Last year, musician Dave Grohl was chosen for the honour.

The 89th Academy Awards are an annual ceremony hosted by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
Most people in the entertainment industry consider the show, dubbed the Oscars after the man-shaped statuette awarded to winners, to be the highest honour you can receive for your work in film.
This year’s Oscars was hosted at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California, February 26, starting at 4pm PST (which is midnight in the UK).
Late-night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel has been announced as this year’s compère.
