What time is Room 101 on BBC1, who is appearing with Frank Skinner and what is it about? All you need to know
IF you could banish one thing from the world forever, what would it be?
Every week, a celebrity gets to choose their biggest bugbear — from death metal to fundraising to "the French" — to Room 101 on the BBC show of the same name.
Here's everything you need to know about Room 101.
What time is it on?
Room 101 is on tonight at 8:30pm on BBC One.
Tonight's episode will be the sixth of nine in series six.
All episodes are available on BBC iPlayer shortly after broadcast.
What's the show about?
Room 101 is described as a "fast-moving game show meets talk show".
Host Frank Skinner acts as referee while three celebrities compete to banish their No1 pet peeve or phobia to Room 101.
The room's name is taken from the novel Nineteen Eighty-Four by George Orwell, in which a torture room called Room 101 contains "the worst thing in the world" (ironically, Orwell named the room after a room in the BBC headquarters where he had to sit through tedious meetings).
Examples of things contestants have banished or tried to banish to Room 101 include the French (Bob Monkhouse); ice cream vans (Harry Hill, who said the tune they play "ruins tea"); fundraising (Henning Wehn); death metal (Sara Cox); and Room 101 itself (Stephen Fry).
Who is the host?
Frank Skinner has hosted the show since 1999.
The presenter, who grew up in Oldbury, West Midlands, had his own chat show on BBC One from 1995 to 1998, and is known for his stand-up comedy.
He won Best Comedy Entertainment Personality at the 2001 British Comedy Awards.
Room 101 was previously hosted by Nick Hancock (from 1994 to 1999) and Paul Merton (1999 to 2007).
Who are tonight's guests?
The three celebs on tonight's show are Richard Ayoade, Alun Cochrane and Gabby Logan.
Richard is best known for playing Maurice Moss on The IT Crowd, and was recently hired to replace Stephen Merchant as Crystal Maze host.
Alun is a stand-up comedian who recently joined Frank Skinner's Absolute Radio Show, and Gabby is a former international gymnast for Wales now known as a telly presenter.
