Ant and Dec are in talks to revive hit Saturday morning show SM:tv LIVE for a reunion to mark 20th anniversary

The stars would be reunited with Cat Deeley if the special takes place

ANT and Dec fans could be in for the ultimate treat as the pair revealed they are in talks to do a anniversary special of their popular morning TV show, SM:TV Live.

The pair used to present Saturday Morning TV Live along with Cat Deeley from 1998 until they left in 2001, with the ITV show eventually ending in 2003.

Ant and Dec are  working with presenter Stephen Mulhern - who hosted SM:TV Live in 2003 - on their Saturday Night Takeaway show and the duo admitted that they had been approached to do a anniversary special.

Speaking to the Ant said: "We were talking to somebody about this recently because it's twenty years since the launch of SM:tv next year.

"So, we were saying whether we could do an anniversary special or something, and we got carried away with the idea.

He continued: "If we did  it a one off, it would be on at 9.25am, with C.H.U.M.S and all that, and get Cat back!"

Dec added: "We're floating it about a few people at the moment, and were getting some positives responses so far."

Children across the nation flocked to their screens on Saturday morning to watch the trio's hilarious skits and interactions so fans will surely be excited by the thought of a reunion.

The most popular sketches included the likes of Friends parody, C.H.U.M.S, Wonkey Donkey and Challenge Ant.

However, before that fans will see Ant and Dec enjoy blasts from the past as chosen by Stephen Mulhern in the Ant vs Dec section of their new series.

Actress Michelle Keegan has been unveiled as the first guest announcer to join the Geordie duo on the first night of the new series, introducing the pair and what is coming up throughout the show to the viewers.

Michelle isn't the only star playing a part in the show opener, as The Voice UK coach and singing powerhouse Jennifer Hudson will be part of the duo's End of the Show Show.

Scarlett Moffatt will also make her first appearance as Ant and Dec's sidekick, after replacing Ashley Roberts in the assistant role for the new series.

Viewers can also expect to see the cheeky chappies taking part in a new whodunit sketch alongside Joanna Lumley and Emilia Fox.

The plot will revolve around the Crown Jewels being stolen from the Tower of London and the pair will have to team up with one of telly’s best crime solvers - Emilia - in a bid to discover who nabbed the Queen’s baubles.

Other famous faces set to take part in the scenes include Dame Shirley Bassey, Carol Vorderman, Katherine Jenkins, Alan Shearer, Jessica Ennis-Hill and Martin Sheen.
