AN eighties movie icon appears to be ageing backwards - 35 years on after her hit movie and Oscar win.

Alison Doody looks younger than ever as she took to social media to share an update to fans.

She posed with her adorable family dog and a snap of her from her James Bond and Indiana Jones days.

Alison said: "We just wanted to say hi to all of the Indiana Jones, James Bond and RRR fans."

The 57-year-old burst into the limelight in the early 80s after coming to the attention of a casting director working on James Bond.

Alison's biggest role came when she was cast in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, starring alongside Harrison Ford in 1989.

In 1991 Alison made the big move to Hollywood and became the new face of beauty brand L'Oréal, replacing Cybill Shepherd.

In her four decades of acting, Doody has starred in a long list of hits, including 2004 TV miniseries King Solomon's Mines with the late Patrick Swayze.

Alison made her debut in the Indian film industry two years ago with the release of RRR.

It became the first Indian film to win an Academy Award to date, as well as bagging several other gongs at other ceremonies.

Alison shares two children with her ex-husband Gavin O'Reilly.

The former couple moved into a 10,000 ft sea-view house in Dalkey, in Ireland which was the country's most expensive house at the time of purchase.

Doody was engaged to businessman Tadhg Geary for a year before calling it off in 2015.
