EMMERDALE'S wedding of the year was halted as the police stormed The Woolpack to arrest Faith Dingle for MURDER.

As Aaron Dingle was about to tie the knot to his boyfriend Robert Sugden the ceremony in the pub was called to a halt when two police officers ran in alongside a shrill woman who shrieked that Faith has murdered her father.

"That's her constable, that's her," the mystery woman said as she walked into the pub. "That's Faith Dingle. The black widow who murdered my dad!"

The twinset and pearl wearing women stormed into the pub and shrieked about Faith, but didn't give any details of who her father is or why she thinks Faith killed him.

Earlier in the episode Cain was forced to lock Aaron in the boot of his car to stop him from discovering his secret wedding before Robert and the family had finished getting everything ready.

But once he was let out and Robert broke the news to him that they were getting married before he is sent to prison for a year.

Asked by Robert if he was nervous about their upcoming wedding, Aaron said: "Not for one second."

And when they walked into the then festive-themed wedding - courtesy of Faith's interfering - the Dingles and the Sugdens assembled for the wedding.

"Are those the Christmas decorations?" Aaron asked. "You know what, it works. Anything would. However, whenever."

The couple then walked over to the front of the room with vicar Harriet Finch who put aside her religion's rules to marry the loved-up couple.

"Let's kick off by getting the whole if anybody contests this marriage thing out of the way?" said Harriet, and as no-one did, the wedding could proceed.

"Great, we're all agreed then. This marriage was meant to be," she added as the mystery woman and the police stormed in.

Viewers will have to wait until tomorrow night's epoisode before they discover if the wedding goes ahead and what Faith's secret is.
