Jeremy Paxman spotted looking grumpy with his new love as they are pictured together for the first time following his split from partner after 35 years
Former Newsnight presenter refused to answer any questions about their relationship
A GRUMPY-looking Jeremy Paxman was spotted with his young lover yesterday for the first time since splitting from his long-term partner.
The University Challenge host, 66, left his £1.5million flat in Notting Hill, West London, with Jillian Taylor, 37, shortly before midday.
Ex-Newsnight presenter Paxman refused to answer any questions about their relationship. Canadian Jillian, an editor with publishers Penguin, looked sheepish as they got into a chauffeur-driven VW.
It emerged at the weekend that Paxman had left Elizabeth Clough, 64, his partner of 35 years.
They have children Jessica, 26, and twins Jack and Victoria, 19.
Last year Paxman admitted a “passionate hatred” for his father Keith after he walked out on the family when the presenter was 24.
He is now living in a "bachelor pad" in Kensington, west London, and said to be spending more time with book researcher Jillian Taylor, who is in her 30s and divorced from her previous partner.
The pair have worked closely together on the ex-Newsnight presenter's history books and have known each other for more than six years.
Paxman - once dubbed the "thinking woman's crumpet" - gushes about Jillian's research skills in his 2011 book Empire: What Ruling the World Did to the British.
