Take That drive Let It Shine fans wild with incredible semi final show opening performance
Gary Barlow, Howard Donald and Mark Owen took to the stage to perform as Take That
LET It Shine kicked off to a triumphant start on Saturday as show overlord Gary Barlow hit the stage with bandmates Mark Owen and Howard Donald for a Take That performance.
The pop legends showed the Let It Shine contestants how it’s done as they sang their chart topping track Shine.
With an army of backing drummers – and support on vocals from the contestants – the live studio audience thought they had died and gone to Take That heaven.
And indeed viewers at home were equally beside themselves with excitement and took to Twitter in droves to express their joy.

"What a great start I loved it!!! #TakeThat #Letitshine," one fan wrote as the semi final show kicked off.
One fan hailed Take That for making classic tunes, tweeting: "@BBCLetItShine take that classics have stood the test of time #letitshine #saturdaynight."
Another fan noted how great it is to see Take That enjoying themselves as they had their moment on stage.
"TAKE THAT LOOK SO SO HAPPY AND THAT MAKES ME SO SO HAPPY MY BEAUTIFUL BABIES #LetItShine," they enthusiastically wrote on Twitter.
"What any Opening With the Boys all singing Take That Songs and then ending with them all singing Shine with @takethat #LetItShine," another enthused.
While another still said Let It Shine had been made better as an overall show with Take That's appearance.
"How much better is Let It Shine now they're singing Take That songs though? I'd sit down every week to watch people sing Take That songs!" the fan tweeted.
The winners of Let It Shine will go on to land lead roles in a musical about Take That.
While Take That themselves are a great inspiration for any aspiring boy band wannabes - having ruled the charts since the 90s.
