Jo Wood reveals she’s forgiven cheating Rolling Stones ex Ronnie and claims divorce from the rocker was ‘the best thing that ever happened’

She was married to Rolling Stones rocker for 24 years before he cheated with cocktail waitress in 2008

JO Wood has revealed that getting divorced from The Rolling Stone rocker Ronnie Wood is the “best thing that ever happened” to her.

The pair’s 34 year relationship came to dramatic end in 2008 when he was caught cheating with 20-year-old Ukrainian cocktail waitress Ekaterina Ivanova.

And Jo, 61, revealed having to start her life over again as an independent woman has been a fulfilling experience.

Speaking to e, she explained: “Now when I look back, the divorce is the best thing that happened to me. It made me the woman I am today.

“I’m closer to my kids and I know I’m a better person. I’ve grown up. I’ve become independent. I can look after myself now.”

She also explained how she has managed to maintain a good relationship with her ex-husband, 69, and his new wife Sally Humphreys, 39.

Jo stated: “If you let things fester you become bitter and angry. You can’t enjoy your life. It’s better to be forgiving and happy.

“Ronnie is my friend. When I see him it’s like…’ she pauses to find the right words, ‘…because I know him so well I suppose it’s like having your favourite pair of slippers.”

The mother-of-three also revealed that she has rekindled her romance with former lover Paul Scarborough after years as a singleton following her marriage split.

Single life had not been plain sailing for Jo, who admitted joining dating app Tinder and paying an agency thousands to set her up with her ideal match before giving Channel 4’s Celebrity First Dates a go.

Her past came back to haunt her on the show when she went on a blind date with a man who was the spitting image of Ronnie

When he asked who her famous ex was, she doesn’t hold back in spilling the beans.

She said: “He ran off. I did a bit of detective work and found him. There he was with the other woman.

“I said, ‘Hi’ and realised it was over. It was heart-rending, my whole world fell apart.”
