Jason, 50, was born on September 26, 1966 in Putney, London.
He decided to become an actor after appearing in a number of stage shows at his school, Christ's Hospital, Sussex.
In the 1980s he was involved in the National Youth Theatre and political group, the Young Socialists.
After being expelled from the Labour party for selling the Militant newspaper, he returned to acting in 1990 and was accepted to London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art.
