The pair got groovy live on the ITV breakfast show

KATE Garraway and Charlotte Hawkins were hailed ";the new PJ and Duncan" after creating a new fish bowl dance move on Good Morning Britain.

Viewers of the ITV breakfast show were left in hysterics after Kate misheard American teacher Barry White as he was explaining a fist-pump handshake move, instead believing him to say fish bowl.

Looking very confused she was set straight by her co-host before the pair pretended to outline the curved shape of the aquatic home with their hands.

Kate giggled at her blooper and referring to Barry said: "We are the pupils he finally failed with!"

One fan took to twitter to liken them to telly favourite Ant and Dec's PJ and Duncan streetwise personas during their music career and wrote: "Haha! The all new PJ and Duncan!!" followed by a winking Emoji.

PJ and Duncan were famed for their street savvy ganster-inspired moves which involved plenty of swag walking and hand-waving.

Another amused fan wrote: "Gotta love a fishbowl," followed by an Emoji crying with laughter while a third wrote: "Made my morning ... thank you #fishbowl aka #fistpump."

One then posted: "High 5's to Barry White jnr You and @kategarraway need to work on your moves though!!" while a fellow fan added: "FIST BUMP!!! @kategarraway not fist pump or fish pop," followed by cheeky monkey Emojis.

The pair had been chatting to teacher Barry, based in California, who greets his pupils with a personalised individual handshake every morning.

Viewers were hugely impressed with his enthusiasm and his lively early-morning routines.

It was only when Kate asked for a more toned-down, beginner-friendly version that her hearing mishap occured.

This sparked banter throughout the remainder of the show as she and Charlotte rehearsed their new move.

Kate then told entertainment reporter Richard Arnold: "I've invented a new dance move!" and later quipped to X Factor winner Matt Terry: "Have you done that Matt Terry?

"It's in all the clubs."
