Jeremy McConnell looks happier than ever as he enjoys a drink with friends as he celebrates news he’s the father of Stephanie Davis’ baby
NEW dad Jeremy McConnell looked happier than ever as he celebrated the news he's the father of Stephanie Davis' baby Caben-Albi by enjoying a drink with pals.
Steph gave birth to the baby boy on January 13 and over the weekend Jez confirmed he is the dad.
Just hours after announcing the news on Twitter, the Celebrity Big Brother star was spotted toasting his new son with friends at the Hog and Heffers bar in Dublin.
According the magazine, Jez "couldn't wipe the smile from his face".
It comes after The Sun revealed Steph and Jeremy are back on "good terms" after secret peace talks between their two camps – with friends predicting the pair may even rekindle a romance in the future.
The former couple, who have been at loggerheads since they split last year just weeks before Steph announced her pregnancy, are willing to put their differences aside for the sake of their son.
A source said: “Stephanie and Jeremy are back on speaking terms.
“They’re trying to rebuild a civilised relationship for the sake of Caben – they both knew that the situation had to change for things to move forward.
“It’s going to be a slow process but they’re gradually heading in the right direction.”
But close friends of the pair believe their truce could lead to further romance as the chemistry between them is still so strong.
A source said: “A few of their friends think something might even happen between them again in the future.
“Don’t be surprised to see them meeting up again – and there has always been a spark there even if it did end badly.
“Their friends just hope things can be civilised and they can move forwards.”
Meanwhile, Steph also took steps to make amends by following Jeremy on Twitter and Instagram.
The former Hollyoaks star deleted all traces of the Irish hunk - who this weekend confirmed he is the father of their son Caben-Albi - from her social media pages after their explosive split last year.
Yet she has now re-followed his Twitter profile after he proudly told the world he would "step up" and play a parental role in his little boy's life.
He has reciprocated, and also chosen to follow Steph's account both on Twitter and Instagram.
Yet Jez is still yet to meet the tot, born last month.
Steph and Jez found love during their time in Celebrity Big Brother yet after a rollercoaster relationship and accusations of violence decide to part ways.
The actress then discovered she was pregnant and always claimed Jez - who took a paternity test on ITV show This Morning - was the dad.
Insisting he hoped he is the father to little Caben, Jeremy said: "It’s time to put our differences aside and do the right thing. It’s plain and simple.
"This could be dealt with privately from the start but we can’t change the past."
After finding out the results, Dubliner Jez took to his own Twitter page this weekend.
The former Celebrity Big Brother star shared a sweet close-up photo of the tiny tot on his Twitter profile on Saturday, writing: “I’ll love this monkey with every bit of me.”
Jeremy also confirmed the news on Instagram, adding: “Happiest man alive, my new focus.”
After his revelation, Jeremy’s fans inundated him on social media with many congratulating him on his “mini-me” son.
Yet according to , the photo was taken from one of Stephanie’s private social media accounts, and Jeremy is yet to come face to face with his son.
The site claims Jeremy hasn’t made plans to meet his baby “in the near future”, but the former couple are currently working to sort out an arrangement.
It comes after Jeremy confirmed he’s the father of Steph’s baby with the social media posts, days after appearing on This Morning to plead with her for the DNA results.
Shortly after the segment, ex-Hollyoaks star Steph posted a lengthy response, which has since been deleted, reading: “Stephanie has felt humiliated by Jeremy denying his own son and foolishly announcing publicly his request for a DNA test.
“Jeremy has caused Stephanie massive amount of stress, pressure and upset throughout her pregnancy, ruining what for most women is one of the most special times of their lives.”
