He was handcuffed and taken to a police station after cops pulled him over in the early hours of the morning when he failed to stop at a stop sign.

Stony faced as he was seen for the first time, Justin didn’t react as he walked out of a court in New York with his lawyer Ed Burke after being told he had been charged.

He wore a cap and sunglasses and was believed to be wearing the same clothes that he was arrested in.

Justin could face up to a year behind bars if found guilty.

“He will not want to let his fans down.”

Justin, who has two children with his actress wife Jessica Biel, had been on a night out in the posh Sag Harbor area of New York with pals at the American Hotel before he was arrested.

He was pulled over by police yesterday morning around 12:30am.

Justin did not halt at a stop sign which led to police pulling him over.

He was handcuffed and arrested at the side of the road after allegedly refusing to take a test to show if he was over or under the legal limit of alcohol.

In court Justin was charged and released without bail.

As well as being charged with drink driving, the court heard how he ran a stop sign and allegedly failed to stay in his own lane.

Justin is currently on his The Forget Tomorrow World Tour and last performed in Miami on Saturday night.

He is due to be back on stage in Chicago on Friday night.

A source who witnessed Justin leaving the American hotel said: “Justin was out to dinner with friends and there were cop cars stationed outside the restaurant, like there are most nights.

“They look for people who are leaving after midnight who might have been drinking.

“Justin left at 12:30 am and was pulled over.

“Nobody was hurt and there was no drama.”

Justin, who found fame on the Disney channel alongside his former girlfriend Britney Spears, will bring his tour to the UK in August.

It includes performances in Manchester, Birmingham and two dates at London’s O2 Arena.
