MADONNA's sister will step in to mind her newly adopted daughters if something happens to the superstar, it has been reported.

The 58-year-old artist shared a heartwarming picture of herself with her two adopted daughters Stella and Esther earlier this month after it was confirmed that the process had officially gone through.

During the judgement passed at the High Court in Malawi, Judge Fiona Mwale said: "[Madonna’s] extended family are equally on-board with the adoption.

"One of her sister’s and her husband have executed a declaration of their willingness to step in as guardian of the two infants should anything happen to the petitioner."

Stella and Esther have reportedly lived together in Home of Hope orphanage in Mchinji for two years.

The singer was in Malawi when the court ruled she could legally adopt the girls.

On Tuesday The Sun Online reported how Madonna had been given the go ahead to formally adopted the little girls.

The superstar was inside the court in Lilongwe when the ruling was delivered, with the judge saying she was a “good friend of the country.”

It came just days after she denied she was in the African nation for an adoption bid, instead insisting she was visiting a children’s hospital and doing charity work.

The sisters of the twins adopted by Madonna have said that they are delighted the four-year-olds have been taken out of poverty.

Alinefe and Tifa Mwale, who are still in the village, claim they are thrilled Estere and Stelle has joined the 58-year-old artist in her luxurious £32million New York home.

: “I am very happy for them.”

“They will have a good education and they can live out their dreams. They are with someone who wants them and will love them so much.”
