Legendary Irish singer and TV personality Rose-Marie dies suddenly aged 68 as tributes pour in

LEGENDARY Irish singer Rose-Marie has sadly died suddenly in Blackpool leaving her fans shocked.

Singer Rose-Marie Kane, from Co , was also a TV and radio personality.

Confirming her sad passing, a post on her page, said: “It is with heavy hearts & enormous great sadness, that we have to announce the sudden passing of our much loved Rose-Marie, in her beloved second home of Blackpool.

“Rest in Peace, dear heart.”

Fans expressed their grief and shock as her page was flooded with tributes.

One fan said: ";Oh this is so heartbreaking, I’m completely shocked."

Another said “this is so heartbreaking”, adding “thinking of Rose-Marie family and loved ones at this so sad a time”.

Rose-Marie had released 19 albums and was voted Most Popular Singer at the International Music Awards.

She has also sold out the London Palladium on more than one occasion.

The singer also enjoyed success as a local and national television personality in the United Kingdom, and was well-known as a former judge in two series of the BBC talent show Go For It.

She had also appeared on a number of other shows, including, Shooting Stars, Doctors, and Big Brother's Little Brother.

Away from the small screen she also enjoyed acting, and appeared in several stage productions and on radio, and played Rita in the 2001 film Cold Fish.

She was also very involved in charity work, including the promotion of road safety and charity for the underprivileged.

Tributes have been pouring in for the late singer as fans flock to the comments of the sad announcement to share their condolences.

One said: "Oh this is so heartbreaking, I’m completely shocked."

Another said: "In shock. Can’t believe this - dear Rosey Rose-Marie Kane

"We were catching up at the end of the month - rest in peace dear friend."

A third added: "Oh no I'm absolutely gutted. I was brought up listening to you.

"Thinking of all your friends and family at this time. Go show them how to perform in heaven Angel."

While a fourth recalled: "Good love you. I remember when you came to see me when I was 16 in Maidstone hospital as I was due to see one of your shows.

"But unfortunately I couldn't get there so my dad some how arranged for you to visit me. I will never forget that cherished memories to stay forever. Godbless such a wonderful Irish lady who had a voice of pure god."

Another said: "Omg I am so shocked this must have been so sudden. My heart goes out to your family, rest in Peace such a lovely lady. Gone too soon."
