PRESTON is famous for inventing the word “teetotal”, but now it’s about to go totally crazy.
This year’s Radio 2 in the Park will take place in the Lancashire city’s Moor Park with Sting and Pet Shop Boys as the headline acts.
On Saturday, September 7, acts include Snow Patrol, Craig David, Travis, Kim Wilde, Sugababes, Pixie Lott and Shaznay Lewis before Sting, rounds off the night.
The following day Pet Shop Boys top the bill with Manic Street Preachers, Sister Sledge, Paul Heaton, Gabrielle, Shed Seven, Delta Goodrem and Haircut 100 playing too.
Sting said: “I’ve never been to Preston so I’m really looking forward to joining the Radio 2 line-up as the Saturday headliner.
“Of course I’ll sing Roxanne and Every Little Thing She Does is Magic, but there will also be some deep cuts as well.”

Pet Shop Boys Neil Tennant told Zoe Ball on air yesterday: “We’re going to be doing the greatest hits show, there’s a possibility we might have a special guest.”
Neil stayed tight lipped. . . but I’m sure it won’t be long until someone lets slip who it might be.
