The pair - who front the ITV daytime show from Monday to Thursday - enjoy a well-deserved Friday off, which might explain the reason for his early message.

His clip, taken in what looked to be the show's dressing room, captured Holly's expression of sheer shock as he led the celebratory song and an assistant placed a yellow-iced cake on the table next to Holly.

She opened her mouth in a delighted surprise before making numerous attempts to blow out the five candles as Phil completed the lines: "Happy Birthday dear Holly, Happy Birthday to you."

As she put out the last of the flames Brighton-born Holly squealed: "I've always wanted to do this!"

She then added: "I'm thirty six again," followed by a fist pump before thanking Phil and the team.

As he filmed the action on his phone Phil couldn't resist a cheeky comment and could be heard calling: "Smoke alarm, smoke alarm!"

Another assistant warned Holly "watch your hair!" as she leaned over the candle before a pal rushed over and dabbed Holly's hand, perhaps hinting she had smeared some cake on her nails.

Meanwhile Holly took to her Instagram page to gush about the day before her birthday.

She gave fans a sneak peek at her This Morning outfit, with a clingy black jumper and flowing pink skirt flattering her figure, and added the excited caption: The final @thismorning being 35!!," followed by a cheeky monkey icon and the details of where she purchased her outfit.

holly had expertly matched her pink velvet shoes to her knee-length skirt and kept her make up natural as she glanced over her shoulder and smiled.

Meanwhile Phil is renowned for his hilarious online videos.

Always up for a bit of banter he  gave his best attempt at the dab dance move which sees people point one arm upwards towards the sky, while testing their coordination as they bow their head into the other forearm.

Phil seemed to have his dance moves on point even combining them with a swift slide from his kitchen worktop onto the floor as he pulled off the routine with aplomb.

The presenter looked ready for a very chilled Sunday in a white T-Shirt and checked blue trousers as he chatted to one of his children, who captured the action on camera.

Phil started his move perched on the table.

Speaking directly to the lens he said: "It has to be slick, quick and effective," before leaping onto the floor with his hands in the right positions and proudly announcing: "Like that!"

Phillip was then seen reaching for a glass of red wine as he celebrated his move.

He captioned the clip with the hashtag #SCHOFEDAB and tagged Emoji icons crying with laughter and wearing snazzy sunglasses.
