SARAH Sugden has met the mystery woman in the barn in Emmerdale.
The young daughter of Debbie Dingle and Andy Sugden found the stranger hiding in her great grandparents' barn after she helped feeding the pigs.
"Blimmen' heck love, you nearly gave me a heart attack," the shocked woman told Sarah who was wielding a shovel.
"I'm sorry if I scared you. Well I was just passing, I sat down for five minutes and I found myself locked in for the night. You saved me."
Invited in, the mystery woman revealed that she didn't want to disturb the family before claiming she was in the area for Joanie's funeral.
But as she coughed and it became clear she was very ill, Sarah became concerned about the mystery woman.
"Please don't. I don't want anyone else to know I'm here. Trust me your family won't want to see me."
Sarah wrapped the woman in a blanket and made her a flask full of tea to keep her warm before getting her a sandwich and some beer too.
But when the woman slipped up and admitted she didn't know Joanie but did know Sarah, the youngster became intrigued.
Emmerdale bosses have stayed tight-lipped over who the woman actually is and it’s driving fans of the soap crazy as they try and work out just who she might be.
So far fans of the ITV show know that the new character is being played by Sally Dexter, who previously starred as Mrs Chynoweth in Poldark.
The woman also appears to have a keen interest in the Dingle family, after she was spotted trying to listen in to a private conversation between Lisa and Zak.
- Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV at 7pm
