EMMERDALE'S Michael Praed opened up about playing bad boy Frank Clayton in the ITV soap as TV girl Sharon Marshall got VERY excited to meet him.

Before Holly and Phil started their chat with Michael, soap girl Sharon was SO excited to see him that they brought him out on set early and she promptly sprawled out on the couch on top of him.

Sharon was so excited that she could barely finish her soap round-up as cuddled next to him.

Michael joked: "A little bit of discreet adoration never hurt anybody."

Holly laughed: "Sharon, this is unbelievable, should we leave you two to it?"

Speaking about his character, he said: "Frank has also got a certain charm, he's trying to get back with his daughters and he has succeeded.

"Nut we've all been in this situation, haven't we? We're happily going down one path and then suddenly, there's a bolt out of the blue that completely changes our thinking. So Frank is doing something that - at the time - seems thoughtless but right."

Opening up about this week's heist and teaming up with Charity, he said: "Frank has been a lone wolf, so she's a complete loose cannon and unknown quantity.

"Anything could happen...and they end up kissing."

Michael also gushed about working on the ITV soap saying: "The one thing I really hadn't prepared myself for was for quite how much I'm enjoying it.

"There's something about Yorkshire folk and when you walk into a soap, it's a huge fraternity and they welcomed me in with open arms.

"And the figures are in from 2016 and Emmerdale have a 32 per cent share, Emmerdale is doing supremely well."

It all kicks off on Emmerdale this week when Charity dresses up like Chrissie, while Frank dons a pair of glasses as they meet the jewellers they’re planning to scam at an empty Home Farm.

The jewellers soon realise, however, that a couple of diamonds are missing, and as Frank and Charity flee the scene, the pair share a passionate kiss in the heat of the moment.

Could this be the start of another Bonnie and Clyde double act to rival Cain and Charity?

“Frank could do more scams with Charity – if he likes sticking his head inside a lion’s mouth,” says Michael.

“She’s a duplicitous woman who has no problem dropping the other person in it. Frank should be very leery of getting involved with her.”

It’s not long before the Whites rumble the pair and Chrissie threatens to call the police. Can Frank persuade her otherwise, or will he end up behind bars again?
