Gemma Collins FINALLY flies back to Britain after being struck down by mystery illness while filming Towie in Tenerife

GEMMA Collins has finally been allowed to fly home from Tenerife after being struck down by a mystery illness.

The Towie star was unable to come back to Essex with the rest of her cast mates on Thursday after being hospitalised in the Canary Islands for an undisclosed medical issue.

But on Saturday, Gemma shared the happy news she was finally able to jet home, posting a picture on Instagram to prove she was out of hospital.

Tagging it: "Homeward BOUND", Gemma showed off her legs and designer handbag, with fans quickly commenting how pleased they were she was finally on the mend.

Gemma was forced to remain behind as the rest of the Towie crew, including the likes of Megan McKenna, Pete Wicks and James Lock, jetted home after filming scenes for the next series.

Taking to her Instagram page on Thursday, the bubbly reality star shared a picture of her castmates sat together at a large table.

She captioned the snap saying: "Sadly not flying back with this lot today but can't wait to see you all when back in Essex."

She had previously shared a picture of magazine on her lap in her hospital bed as she wrote: "Over the moon to have some mags in hospital.

"cheering me up. thanks everyone for lovely messages."

Concerns for Gemma's health were first raised on Tuesday, when she shared another snap on Instagram of her hand bandaged up and with a drip in it.

She captioned the photo: "Thankyou for all your lovely messages sadly Im in hospital in Tenerife but hope to be on the mend soon what a way to spend your birthday."

Fans immediately flooded the star with support, as one fan commented: "Hope nothing too serious and you're out to celebrate your birthday soon."

And one wrote: "Wishing you better Hun X."

While one added: "Oh crap Hun :( hope your ok ..happy birthday and get well wishes xx."
