A confirmed release date for season seven is yet to be formally announced – although it is already known it will air later than the usual April air date for previous seasons.

With winter falling across the seven kingdoms for the upcoming series, the show creators decided they needed to film later in the year to capture the authentic change in climate where the show is filmed.

However, eagle eyed fans have spotted that IMDB may have leaked the show air date after the website suggested Season 7, Episode 1 would be on television on 25 June 2017.

Traditionally, Game of Thrones airs in the UK on Sky Atlantic at roughly 2am simultaneously with HBO in America (airing on the East Coast at 9pm) so fans on both sides of the Atlantic can view the show – with the episode repeated at 9pm in the UK on the same day.

Filming for season 7, however, is believed to continue this month.
