PETER Kay has cancelled his stand up shows for a second time.

The comic told fans "I can't believe it either" as he apologised for the setback.

He wrote on social media: "My apologies once again but unfortunately the Co-op Live still isn’t ready and so, as yet, remains untested for a large-scale audience.

"Consequently, they are having to reschedule my two shows yet again (I know I can’t believe it either)."

Peter added: "It's very disappointing but your safety is important and I won't compromise that."

For those supposed to be attending Monday, April 29 can see the show on May 23.

Others who were meant to watch the comic on stage on Tuesday, April 30 will have to wait until Friday, May 24.

The gigs at Manchester's new venue Co-op Live have already been cancelled - just hours before he was due to take the stage.

The "gutted" comedian, 50, issued a statement earlier this week explaining that after testing, the venue decided to postpone his two shows.

At the time, he said: “I’m truly gutted as I know how disappointing this will be for everyone with tickets, but obviously it’s a brand-new venue and it’s important that everything is finished and safe for full capacity audiences."

Peter made an epic comeback after 11 years back in 2022.

The funnyman stepped away from the limelight in 2017 due to "unforeseen family circumstances".

However he did make some special appearances for a number charity specials in 2021.

The last time Peter had been on stage was for his The Tour That Doesn't Tour Tour... Now On Tour in 2011.

In November 2022 he revealed that is stand-up tour - Better Late Than Never - would begin in December 2022 and wrap up in July next year.

Peter will visit cities around the UK such as BirminghamLiverpoolLeedsNewcastle and Nottingham.

The comedian also has shows in BelfastGlasgow, and Cardiff.

Peter also has a monthly residency at London's O2.
