Broadchurch trailer reveals tensions are running high after brutal sex attack as final series prepares to start
Olivia Coleman and David Tennant return as detectives Ellie Miller and Alec Hardy
BROADCHURCH has released the latest trailer for the third and final series - and its a tense one.
The footage opens with Olivia Colman's character DI Ellie Miller approaching a woman who had called about an attack.
It then cuts to David Tennant's character DI Alec Hardy driving through the rain as his voice is heard saying “we will find the man who attacked you”.
The detectives are then seen discussing the traumatic sex attack as they walk across the grounds of a large mansion.
DI Hardy added: “The attack happened at a party, there is a long list of people to interview and eliminate”.
The faces of some of the people – and potential suspects – then appear in a montage, all looking intense in their respective homes, offices and in one case, church.
DI Miller is then seen looking out for her partner - who is clearly busting a gut trying to solve the mystery, telling him “I know you’re tired, but you’ve got to go easier”.

A whole heap of famous faces are joining the hit ITV drama for its final series, including Lenny Henry and former Coronation Street star Julie Hesmondhalgh, who played Hayley Cropper, who is taking on the role as the victim of the sex attack, Trish.
Meanwhile Lenny revealed he was joining the show last June, despite criticising it for its lack of diversity in the past.
He said: “The evolution of black and ethnic minority involvement in British drama seems to lurch one step forward and two steps back, a bit like John Sargeant in Strictly Come Dancing.
“Except he had a job at the end.
“In Broadchurch, at least the boyfriend of the deceased is mixed race, so there’s someone in there.”
Broadchurch series three will begin next month on ITV.
