CARTER VS CARTER

Is this how EastEnders’ Lee Carter makes his extremely dramatic exit from the Square?

Actor Danny-Boy Hathard is set to leave the soap in the coming months

Could Lee Carter be about to do the unthinkable?

EASTENDERS’ Lee Carter is set to make a very dramatic exit from the soap, by murdering his dad Mick, according to a Twitter post by Danny-Boy Hatchard.

But all is not quite as it seems.

Danny-Boy's post read that Lee will kill Mick, played by Danny Dyer, in a fight outside the mechanics over Lee’s debt.

But it turns out that someone had edited the actor's Wikipedia page to include this information, so the he decided to share it on Twitter.

He joked: “Wikipedia makes me laugh. Next it'll say Piers Morgan is a feminist and Donald Trump is black...”

Then he added the screen grab from his Wiki page which read: "He was axed in August 2016, and will leave the soap in 2017 after killing his father Mick Carter in a dramatic fight outside the Archers (sic) over Lee's debt.

Danny-Boy then shared another snippet from the page and wrote: “And, apparently I’m off to buy a wife in Thailand.”

Upon reading Danny-Boy’s tweets, one eagle-eyed fan noticed that his page had been further edited and shared a screen-grab of the new information which said: “Danny’s character Lee Carter will join Serial Drama award winners Emmerdale in a special soap crossover, speaking on Twitter, Danny said he is ‘delighted to be joining Emmerdale’.”

Wikipedia can be edited by any member of the public and the information that was posted on the page has since been deleted, suggesting that it is indeed false.

The Sun Online has contacted the EastEnders team for comment.

But fans saw the funny side with many laughing about the fact the edited Wiki information said “Archers”, like the Radio 4 soap, and not “Arches”, in reference to the Square’s garage owned by Phil Mitchell.

One wrote, “The Archers? You on the radio now?” as another added: “I mean, I know the new EP came from there but he didn't bring it with him,” referring to the soap’s new executive producer Sean O’Connor who had previously worked on the radio soap.

And others shared their own joke comments about Danny-Boy’s post as one wrote, “Not just any fight… but a dramatic fight. I’m picturing b**** slaps and glitter everywhere,” as another added: “Whoever wrote that needs to get out more. Or watch EastEnders.”
