More on Lucy and Jon
Lucy and Jon, 40, have appeared on screen together in many shows including their mockumentary series, Meet The Richardsons, which was born after a TV producer spotted them squabbling on another TV show titled Married To A Celebrity.
Meet The Richardsons follows the pair playing exaggerated and fictional version of themselves and their home life but Lucy, who writes the programme, has confessed that "some things are" real despite appearing to be scripted.
As the writer of the show, Jon said in the past that Lucy wrote his role in the programme for him "to be humiliated and look embarrassed".
Before announcing their split, Jon also admitted that they used their marital rows to their benefit and often crafted scenes in the show to mirror their real-life arguments.

A statement shared by PA news agency today said: "After 9 years of marriage, we would like to announce that we have separated. We have jointly and amicably made the difficult decision to divorce and go our separate ways.

"We will be making no further comment."
Funnyman Jon, 41, and Lucy, 40, started dating in 2013 after they met each other through friend Roisin Conaty.
