Sharon Osbourne ‘lands £2million deal to return to the X Factor for another series’ – but is held back by The Talk
The X Factor judge made it to the finals with her act Saara Aalto in December - but she won't return unless her US chat show agrees
SHARON Osbourne has reportedly landed a £2million deal to remain on the XFactor for another year.
According to sources, music mogul Simon Cowell is keen to get the back for another round of the – despite her forgetting names of her artists, and being branded erratic by fans during this year’s series.
They added: “Some feel that she may have to alter her schedules and that could an impact on her coming back. One thing is for sure - Sharon is the heartbeat of The Talk and the one who makes headlines, so they will not want to let her go.”
Both Louis Walsh and Dermot O’Leary, who returned to the ITV talent show this year alongside Mrs O, confirmed to the that they are remaining on the show until 2018.
However, reports state Nicole Scherzinger is unsure as she is reportedly “holding out in the hope of relaunching her solo career”.
It was announced the show’s spin-off series, The Xtra Factor, has been cancelled after twelve years as ratings begin to dwindle.
A source told The Sun: “The Xtra Factor has had an incredible run on TV but the producers have realised they need to keep up with the times and move with the audience.
“The majority of young X Factor fans are now consuming the show’s extra content via social media, on the official app and on YouTube, where their clips reach millions of people.
“The plan is to build on that and focus entirely on making their digital output bigger and better.
“It’s nothing to do with Rylan and Matt. They did a great job and if the show was continuing on TV they would definitely be returning.
“It’s just about the nature of how people consume TV now. ITV is already doing a very similar thing with The Voice.”
