ELLIE Goulding has flashed her abs in a black bikini and shared rare pictures of her son as she returned to Instagram after her marriage split.

The Starry-Eyed singer confirmed her break-up from husband Caspar Jopling in February, and has since been spending time in Costa Rica on a "wellness break" to heal and get some sunshine. 

She has also found romance with hunky surf instructor Armando Perez.

With a new lease of life, Ellie has shared snaps of her time in the sun, including two rare photos of her son Arthur, who was born in April 2021. 

The adorable pictures prove he takes after his mum - with one showing him playing with a mini sound board while wearing headphones. 

In another, the toddler holds his mum's hand as they wade into the water on the beach together during the sunset.

Other selfies show Ellie relaxing on a lounger in a flowing white top and light blue jeans, while another sees her showing off her abs in a black bikini top while on a hike. 

She’s also seen wading through the water on a riverbank, and smiling peacefully looking sunkissed and tanned. 

Ellie’s getaway has clearly done her the world of good, as other posts show she's in a reflective mood.

Some show the flowers she’s collected, and one contains a quote from author John Steinbeck in 1941. 

The quote reads: “All the goodness and the heroisms will rise up again, then be cut down again and rise up. It isn’t that the evil thing wins - it never will - but that it doesn’t die.”

Pals confirmed to The Sun in February that Ellie and Caspar, who married in a glamorous York ceremony in 2019, had separated after their marriage hit the rocks last summer.

A source said: "Ellie and Caspar are both absolutely dedicated to their little boy and make amazing co-parents.

"They haven't been together for some time but are still just as close.

"If they have time they want to get away on holiday with their little boy later this year.

"It's really important for Ellie and Caspar that they stay friends and they're both free agents who can see other people.

"They're both being very adult about the situation and are carrying on as normal."
