‘Real reason’ Sacha Baron Cohen and Isla Fisher’s marriage crumbled revealed after major disagreement

THE 'real reason' behind Sacha Baron Cohen and Isla Fisher's marriage breakdown has been revealed.
On Friday Sacha, 52, and Isla, 48, shared on Instagram that they had split after 14 years of marriage.

The former couple, who met back in 2001, had actually gone their separate ways last year, but kept their split a secret.
Now The Mail On Sunday has revealed that the reason behind their break-up was over a disagreement on where they wanted to live, after splitting their time between LA and Australia.
According to the publication, rumours that their marriage was over "began to swirl last year when the couple began house-hunting in London".
The wrote: "However, Baron Cohen, 52, who grew up in Hammersmith and is very close to his family, was itching to return to London, while his wife was happier in her native Australia.

"The disagreement over where they lived is said to have taken its toll on the pair, who had been together since 2001.";
They moved to Sydney during the coronavirus pandemic back in 2020, then relocated to Perth, where Isla's family are based in 2021.
A friend of the couple added to the publication: "The return to the UK came from nowhere.
"They had been living away from Britain for a while and they weren't expected to relocate.

"But things were becoming difficult and, as they say, home is where the heart is. Perhaps Sacha thought that would make things better.
"It didn't, though – things just crumbled and crumbled."

REBEL'S CLAIMS
It comes after Rebel Wilson, 44, has appeared to take a cryptic swipe at former co-star Sacha's marriage split.
Their split came after Rebel made shock claims about her experience with comedian Sacha in her new memoir, Rebel Rising.
In her latest Instagram post, she appeared to take a slight dig at the Ali G star by saying "what a week" it had been.
Aussie actress Rebel played Sacha’s girlfriend in 2016 action comedy Grimsby.
In her memoir Rebel Rising, she said it “felt like Sacha Baron Cohen had sexually harassed me” during filming in South Africa.
The Sun understands Rebel’s claims, made in her memoir, and vehemently denied by him, were a catalyst for Isla, 48, to publicly reveal the break-up.
ISLA'S PAIN
Just two months ago Isla opened up about her Valentine's Day plans with Sacha on live TV - despite not being together.
Appearing on The Kelly Clarkson show, Isla revealed: "Every year Sacha does give me a card that [says] 'happy Valentine's from...' and then there's a massive question mark, as if anybody else would... as if I have any other Valentines."
Kelly replied: "You just seem like a fun couple. I love that."
A body language expert has spotted that Isla was hiding her pain when interviewed on TV after her marriage breakdown.

He continued: "People also tend to use sarcasm when asked a difficult or uncomfortable question - when Kelly Clarkson talks about men lining up, Isla's hand gestures change.
"She used an open palm gesture which shows she's being fairly open for some of the interview, but when it comes to the suggestion or hint or joke that she's seeing somebody else, she leans forward and puts her hand on her knees.
"Any gestures that move towards a foetal position suggest we're stressed or scared of being discovered.
"Isla leans forward and covers her legs, clasps her hands together, interlocks the fingers and moves into a ball. It's only for about 2-3 seconds in shot, but means again she's had a sudden shift in emotion.
"She uses sarcasm when she talks about Sacha and the Valentine's Card being from ?.
"In the opening sequence, there's a great fake smile from Isla.
"A genuine smile engages the whole face.
"We don't see the crows feet at the side of her eyes, only the bottom of her face is really engaged, her eyes aren't engaged in the emotion."
It is also believed that their split announcement was "on the cards for some time" following their shock joint statement.
SPLIT STATEMENT
Sacha and Isla said in a joint Instagram post: "After a long tennis match lasting over twenty years, we are finally putting our racquets down.
"In 2023, we jointly filed to end our marriage."
"We have always prioritized our privacy, and have been working through this change," the post continued.

Hidden ring finger - No fans noticed at the time, but in many Instagram shots from this year, Isla has hidden her right hand so her wedding finger was not visible in many shots.
Missing man - The last image Isla shared of her and Sacha prior to the divorce announcement was back in November last year.
