Joshua Ritchie finally rules himself out of being the father of Stephanie Davis’ baby as he confirms he is ‘not the dad’
JOSHUA Ritchie has finally ruled himself out of being the father of Stephanie Davis's baby.
The Ex On The Beach star had exclusively told The Sun that he believed the baby could be his as he bedded Steph "almost a year ago" but now he says this is not the case.
Stephanie gave birth to a baby boy, believed to be Jeremy McConnell's, on Friday, January 13 after a gruelling 48-hour labour.
Shortly afterwards, Joshua told The Sun: “I slept with Steph nearly a year ago.
“I’m worried – she could be turning up on my doorstep with the baby any time soon.”
But he now says he'd not the father telling : “I’m not [the father], no. That got taken out of proportion."
“I’m definitely not.”
Meanwhile, new mum Stephanie is reportedly furious the paternity of her newborn son is overshadowing such a precious time in her life.
The former Celebrity Big Brother star is amazed that people are still questioning who the father is when she has always insisted Jeremy is the dad.
A source revealed to magazine just how much the speculation has begun to affect Steph's first few weeks of motherhood.
The insider told the publication: "She can't believe people are still questioning who the father is.
"Steph is tired of being bashed by men she's trusted in the past. But she's determined to focus on her son."
Meanwhile, her ex-boyfriend Jeremy - who has denied he's the father of the baby - is determined to have a paternity test done as soon as possible in order to know if he's really the dad.
Steph has been steering clear of the drama by doting on her newborn and revealed to fans that she'd already introduced him to the world of "lads and football".
The actress has shared her pride and love in a series of updates on social media over the past week, and she couldn't contain her laughter as her friends gave her son a lesson in football today.
Taking to Twitter, the former CBB star wrote: "The Lads have little babs watching the football with them all..Starting him young. Explaining the footie to him,Cannot cope so funny."
It came shortly after one of Steph's friends revealed her son is the absolute “double” of her.
The new mum is yet to reveal her tiny tot, but her pal has given us an insight into what he looks like.
Her friend Lynzie wrote on Twitter: "@Stephdavis77 he's adorable and the absolute double of you never seen a baby so alert lucky to have you as his mummy xxx"
She also wrote: "Just had the pleasure of meeting one of the most beautiful little boys ever your a natural already @Stephdavis77 #amazingmummy."
Doting mum Steph replied: "@lynzienails hehe Thankyou for his outfit, it's gawjusss!! He really is Beautiful isn't he #dream #inlove! #unreal xxx"
And yesterday Steph revealed her baby son's umbilical cord has finally fallen off, as she celebrated his one week birthday.
The 23-year-old actress cried with happiness when the stump, which connects the placenta to the foetus, dropped off .
Taking to her Twitter account on Friday, Steph said: "OFFICIALLY ONE WEEK OLD!Celebrated by his umbilical cord fallen off and a big wee on mummy Tears of happiness My world! My baby boy (sic)."
Steph has yet to reveal the baby's name but shared a sweet black-and-white photograph of her carrying her baby in his car seat recently, as they made their way out of the maternity suite at a hospital in Liverpool.
She added: "We did it little one... By far my favourite chapter yet... (sic)," followed by a red heart emoji.
Her representative said at the time: "We can confirm our client Stephanie Davis today gave birth to a baby boy in Liverpool. Mother and baby are doing fine."
Stephanie didn't have the easiest of pregnancies as she was struck down with acute morning sickness in the first and second trimester and then she experienced some bleeding, which she feared was a sign of her losing her baby, in the third trimester.
However, doctors quickly established that her baby was fine and she had colitis.
Stephanie then started experiencing Braxton Hicks - irregular practice contractions that can be felt around mid-pregnancy and increase in frequency and strength as the pregnancy progresses - and pressure at the bottom of her stomach last month.
