Speaking afterwards, Holly and Phil also talked about their impending hangovers as they host the show tomorrow.

Phil said: "It’s always brilliant to win. After last year we had a long chat this morning about who was going to tell who to stop at what stage. ‘Now is the time to stop. You have to stop now.’ But we didn’t actually reach a sensible conclusion so I don’t know."

Holly jumped in, remarking: "You can’t start a night with a sensible conclusion!"

Phil joked: "You can if you’re currently employed!"

Talking about this time last year where the pair turned up to present the show in the same outfit after drinking at the NTAs, Phil said that they weren't keen on doing the same thing this year.

He said: "It’s something you should really never do twice. That’s been our mantra this year. Don’t let it happen again."

When asked whether Phil be dressed in the same outfit this year he said he wasn't sure.

Holly cheekily interjected: "You may see them but I might not be wearing them. Shall we say that?"

The host also spoke about his hangover cure: "It was Scarlett Moffatt who actually, back there, suggested, it’s very straight-forward really but it’s just a great big dirty kebab. Bit of chilli on it helps as well."

Ruth Langsford, who was holding the award, revealed: "I’m holding onto it so they don’t lose it."
