IT’S the satirical comedy show that has caused controversy over one or two of their sketches.

From the team behind the Bafta-winning satirical comedy The Revolution Will be Televised, comes Revolting to highlight the state of the nation.

But what’s it all about, what can viewers expect and who is the team behind it all? Here’s what we know.

What is Revolting?

The BBC two show is satirical comedy series satirising the state of the nation.

Each episode features a variety of different skits, including what happens when you take to the streets of Essex to get market research for bogus Ukip policies.

It comes from the BAFTA-winning team behind The Revolution Will Be Televised and Brexageddon?!

Who are Heydon Prowse and Jolyon Rubinstein?

Jolyon Rubinstein is is a British actor, writer, producer and director. He is best known for writing and performing on The Revolution Will Be Televised, a show on BBC Three with Heydon Prowse.

He acted in a popular political viral video in the run up to the 2010 general election with over 200,000 hits on YouTube and  before polling day.

He was educated in London and at the University of Sussex and State University of New York.

Heydon Prowse is a British activist, journalist, satirist and comedian.

He was educated at in London and at the University of Sussex where he studied philosophy, graduating in 2004.

Heydon made national news in the UK in 2009 when a secret recording he made of Conservative politician Alan Duncan in the Houses of Parliament resulted in Duncan's dismissal.

For the 2015 UK General Election, Prowse changed his name to Michael Green via deed poll in order to stand as an independent candidate against Grant Shapps in the Welwyn Hatfield constituency.

Why has the show caused controversy?

One of the sketches on the series is called the Real Housewives of ISIS, depicted a group of Western women who had been groomed by Islamic extremists.

The outrageous sketch saw female actors dressed as brides of Isis fighters, making gun gestures with their hands, taking selfies and parading around in suicide belts.

One ‘housewife’ Mel says: “Abdul seduced me online. He had me at free healthcare.”

Another said she had been “widowed five times”. After an explosion causes the roof to collapse behind her she adds: “six”.

While some have found it deeply offensive and “tasteless”, others have claimed it’s left them in stitches.
