CORONATION Street became home to, what appeared to be, yet another grisly murder last week.

This time it was Andy Carver (Oliver Farnwell) who became evil crook Pat Phelan's (Connor McIntyre) latest victim after he whacked him over the head with a laptop.

While Corrie may not be as well known for its gruesome deaths as its soap counterparts, the murders that have taken place are incredibly shocking...

Kylie Platt

Fans were left horrified last summer after beloved soap character Kylie was stabbed in the heart by thug Clayton and she collapsed on the street as her husband David Platt rushed to her side.

She was left to bleed out on the cobbles as her distraught husband held her dying body in his arms.

Thankfully, justice was served after Clayton was found guilty of Kylie's murder in October.

Tina McIntyre

Michelle Keegan's acting career has flourished since her character Tina's tragic death in 2014.

She was pushed off a balcony by Carla Connor's brother Rob Donnovan.

After finding out about what he did, Carla called the police on her own brother, and Tracy Barlow's lover, which saw him put behind bars.

Callum Logan

Callum Logan's death was aired during the soap's live episode in 2014.

He was involved in a violent scuffle with his lover Sarah and had her pinned to the floor when Kylie came up behind him and bashed him over the head.

The pair and David then hid the body under the floorboards - which was of course discovered.

Maxine Peacock

Maxine was one of the notorious serial killer Richard Hillman's victims after she got in the way of his killing Emily Bishop in 2003.

Richard had broken into her house when Emily was babysitting Maxine's baby son Joshua. He had whacked Emily over the head with a crowbar after making it look like it was a robbery gone wrong.

However Maxine had gone home early and had witnessed the murder and he killed her.

Her husband Ashley later returned home to see her battered and bloodied body.

Tommy Harris

Poor Tommy Harris was killed by his own daughter Katy after she went to confront him.

After making it plain that he hated her older boyfriend Martin, she grabbed a wrench and hit him over the head with it.

Charlie Stubbs

Poor Bill Ward's character James Barton was killed in Emmerdale just a few months ago - but few probably remember that his character Charlie Stubbs was also murdered in Corrie.

Back in 2007, Charlie was killed by his partner Tracy Barlow after he was about the break up with her.

Realising what he was about to do, Tracy offered to perform a lap dance on him before whacking him around the head. In court she claimed she did in self-defence but was found guilty.

Liam Connor

Liam Connor was murdered after Carla's partner Tony hired a man to kill him in a hit-and-run.

Liam was having an affair with Carla and Tony was utterly furious.

They were both on a pub crawl when a car sped down the street and smashed into him.
