Piers Morgan is scolded by Susanna Reid on Good Morning Britain for his rant about Women’s March
The controversial presenter claims he's a "feminist" and slams Madonna for "bomb threat" comments
PIERS Morgan was slammed by his Good Morning Britain co-host Susanna Reid this morning after declaring himself a feminist on live TV.
The online row followed on from a Twitter spat between the pair over the weekend after Susanna pulled Piers up for saying: "I'm planning a 'Men's March' to protest at the creeping global emasculation of my gender by rabid feminists. Who's with me?"
In an explosive episode of GMB this morning, Piers celebrated that a number of women appeared to agree with him that remarks made by pop queen Madonna about “blowing up the White House” during one of the Women’s Marches that took place across the world this weekend were wrong.
He said: "I have to say, a lot of women agree with me. It doesn’t mean you don’t support women’s rights. I’m a feminist, don’t choke on your cornflakes, sisters."
But after he appeared to be trying to divert the negative attention from himself and towards the singer, Susanna scolded him, saying: "I think the trouble is, if you persistently describe feminists as ‘feminazis’ it ruins your argument."
Piers, 51, controversially tweeted his opposition to the anti-Donald Trump marches on Saturday, but on Monday morning as he interviewed Women’s Equality Party leader Sophie Walker, he only had one thing on his mind – Madonna.
Referring to the 56-year-old pop icon saying she wanted to “blow up the White House,” Piers said: “I saw lots of placards and people saying it’s about ending the hate, Trump is hateful, we have to end the hate, it’s all about love.
“Then I saw Madonna on the stage in America saying, ‘What I’ve been thinking about recently is blowing up the White House’, then I saw her effing and blinding.
“How does blowing up the White House end that? How does Madonna say she wants to blow up the White House help the campaign?”
On Sunday it was reported the US Secret Service is reportedly "investigating" the pop diva over her rant.
Sophie tried to explain how their points were very different, responding: “There’s a big difference between speaking figuratively in terms of ‘I got up this morning and I was just so upset about how I was feeling’ as against Donald Trump’s comments about there should be punishment for women who seek illegal abortions.”
And as she tried to move the subject away from Madonna, Piers would not let it go, as he demanded to know whether or not Sophie “condemned” the singer’s comments.

The presenter continued to speak over her, leaving Sophie to accuse him of being more interested in “pantomime”.
“I am for free speech and we’re not getting free speech as women, either under Donald Trump or on this programme because you’re more interested in pantomime.”
As the debate came to a close, Susanna Reid managed to get a word in, telling Piers: “Madonna does not have an influence on policy and how it affects millions of women.”
Later in the show, Susanna teased her co-host for only picking up on Madge’s comments, stating: “Who’d have thought out of a march of two million women, you’d focus on the one women, Madonna.”
Minutes later and in relations to a story that burnt toast can give you cancer, Piers joked: “I’d rather eat burnt toast and die than listen to Madonna."
While the studio may have disagreed with him, Piers retweeted support for his opinions.
But others disagreed, with one viewer calling him "shocking, rude and patronising", and another adding that he'd made her "blood boil".
This isn’t the only time Piers has slammed Madonna. When she promoted the Women’s March two weeks ago with what looked like a Nike tick in a very intimate area, he said he’d “thrown up”. He also asked called her Carpool Karaoke with James Corden “sickening.”
As he launched his latest series of Life Stories at the weekend, the telly presenter has revealed his special ongoing relationship with Trump, claiming he has a better connection with the new President than former Ukip leader Nigel Farage.
