WHO'S THAT GIRL?

Lydia Bright and Josie Gibson celebrate their birthdays in fancy dress with their Jump co-stars – and Gareth Thomas goes all out as a woman

THE stars of The Jump donned their best fancy dress outfits to celebrate the birthdays of Lydia Bright and Josie Gibson on Saturday night.

Former Rugby champ Gareth Thomas went all out with his costume – dressing as a woman with a bright blonde wig, a cropped shirt and denim hot pants.

Spencer Matthews and Jake Quickenden opted for an animal theme, with both of them looking as though they were trying to attempt a throwback to their I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here days.

Vogue Williams looked adorable as the Pink Panther, wisely making sure her costume for their big night out would keep her nice and warm as temperatures dropped to below minus five Degrees Celsius.

Socialite Emma Parker-Bowles dressed as a banana but appeared to be struggling to see at times as the costume rode down over her eyes.

The band of novice winter sports enthusiasts enjoyed a rowdy meal out with a couple of drinks before retiring to bed.

All of the 14 celebrities have been training hard ahead of the start of the show which airs on February 5.

The Channel 4 show, which has previously been hit by claims it is dangerous, will run for six weeks.

Former contestant Tina Hobley revealed this week how she was still having to use crutches one year after a serious accident on the show.

The Holby City actress also said she was unable to drive, wash or dress herself unaided.

During training there have been some minor accidents, with former Big Brother star Josie suffering a nasty fall.

She later defended the programme however and insisted the competitors safety was paramount.

She tweeted: "I just want to assure everyone we are not pushed to do any thing we do feel ready to do on #thejump.

Safety is first."

"It comes after photos captured the moment she took the nasty tumble while practising on a steeper-looking slope.

And she wasn't alone, as former footballer Robbie Fowler appeared to struggle after suffering his own painful-looking fall.

Robbie, 41, and Josie, 31, are among a slew of celebrities competing in the fourth series of the winter sports competition, despite controversy last year after contestants were plagued with injuries.

The show has doubled its training schedule to help keep the latest batch of stars safe, and it looks like they might need the practice.

Wearing a bright red ski suit and, fortunately, a helmet, Robbie was seen coming off a jump — albeit seemingly not from the top — and tipping forward as he lost his balance, eventually landing flat on his stomach and losing his skis.

Josie meanwhile was pictured in blue and yellow gear, losing control of her skis and swerving sideways into a wall as the tips crossed.

It's not the first time Josie's landed on her back while training for the show.

The reality star, who's been getting one-on-one coaching, injured herself when she landed on her back during practice in London, and later broke down in tears after another tumble.

Perhaps the series is called The Jump because The Fall was already taken.
