Tipping Point viewers in outrage after show cancelled for Donald Trump’s inauguration as US President

TIPPING Point viewers were left furious after missing out on their Friday fix of Ben Shephard as broadcaster ITV instead chose to air US President Donald Trump's inauguration.

Fans getting set for their game show fix hailed the events a "TV homicide" when they tuned into the late afternoon show to find hunky Ben replaced by the controversial politician.

Rival TV channel BBC was already covering the events in Washington live yet ITV also decided to air the coverage of Barack Obama's replacement.

After the schedule shift Twitter was flooded with disgruntled comments, with one outraged Tipping Point regular posting: "I can't believe Tipping Point has been moved to make way for the Trump. Priorities people!"

Another added: "Trump press conference on TV at 4 o'clock. The arrogance of the man to go up against Tipping Point," while one wrote: "Trump already causing chaos. In care homes length & breadth of UK there are anguished shouts: 'What's happened to Tipping Point?'"

One raged: "Fuming the Trump inauguration is being played over tipping point and the chase!!" while a fellow fan added: "The Presidential Inauguration is on instead of Tipping Point, Trump you have ruined my Friday evening."

One cheeky fan tuned in before quipping: "Jeez that @benshephard has let himself go ..."

Meanwhile Hollyoaks actor Charlie Wernham got in on the action as he posted: "Come on ITV. What's more important.. The Inauguration of Donald Trump or Tipping Point? At least the jackpot counter gives us a bit of hope."

 

 

 

 

Yesterday, the world watched as the new President belted out Sinatra classic My Way as he celebrated at three glam inauguration balls in Washington.

The Republican and his wife Melania spent the evening at the Liberty and Freedom Balls at the Washington Convention Center before later arriving at a gala for the armed forces.

Earlier he had been sworn in as the 45th President of the USA after taking the Oath of Office.

Ms Trump stunned in a Hervé Pierre gown, as her husband told a room full of supporters: “Well, we did it”.

He added: “Today we had a great day. People that weren’t so nice to me were saying that we did a really good job today.

“They hated to do it, but they did it and I respect that. I respect that but I have to say the crowd was unbelievable today.”
