Sir Elton John reveals next career move after quitting touring as David Furnish gives health update on superstar husband
David also teased that fans can expect to see him up on stage again soon
SIR Elton John is in talks to launch a jukebox musical featuring his stellar catalogue.
The music icon, 76, who retired from touring last summer, is exploring options for a stage show which could include hits like Your Song, Candle In The Wind and Tiny Dancer.

Elton’s husband David Furnish revealed the news at the 32nd annual Elton John AIDS Foundation Oscars viewing party, which raised a record £8.4million and was attended by stars including Ellie Goulding, Donatella Versace and Elizabeth Hurley.
David, 61, told The Sun: “A catalogue musical, we are always looking at it. I haven’t found anything yet that really covers… I think if we wanted to do it, we would want to do it in a way that was really innovative and really exciting and different.
“We’re open to any great ideas and it’s a wonderful catalogue. But at the moment, with the two other musicals, we’re quite busy as it is.”
He will launch his Devil Wears Prada show in Plymouth in July, as well as his musical Tammy Faye, about the televangelist Tammy Faye Bakker, on Broadway later this year.

Elton was unable to walk the red carpet at his own event after a knee replacement in January, which will be followed by an operation on his other knee next month.
Giving an update on his condition, David said: “He’s doing amazing. He’s having another knee done in a couple of weeks and by the time the summer rolls around, he’ll have two brand new spanking knees.
“I think you’ll see him breakdancing down the carpet next year.”
David also teased that fans can expect to see him up on stage again soon.

He said: “I don’t think Elton’s going to try to top Glastonbury. He drew a curtain over his touring career, I don’t think he will stop performing completely.
“I think he’s going to take advantage of the opportunity to do little shows now and again but he’s not going to tour anymore. He’s done that for 50 years and he’s enjoying being at home with his family.

“We are launching two stage musicals this year, a documentary on Disney+, opening a photo exhibition at the V&A in May, so it’s still very busy.
“It hasn’t exactly slowed down in the Furnish-John household.”
