Who is the father of Stephanie Davis’ baby boy? Jeremy McConnell reveals he IS Caben-Albi George’s dad after DNA test
STEPHANIE Davis may have given birth to her baby boy... but who is the tot's father?
Her bad boy ex-boyfriend Jeremy McConnell was the name on everyone's lips, with Steph insisting the baby is his despite him denying the claims throughout her pregnancy.
Jeremy has now confirmed the news that he IS the father of little Caben-Albi.
Find out how DNA testing could have proved once and for all who's the daddy...
Who is Stephanie Davis? And when was her baby born?
Stephanie Davis is an ex-Hollyoaks star who hit the headlines following her romance with Jeremy McConnell in the Celebrity Big Brother house in January 2016.– even though she had a boyfriend.
Their fiery on/off relationship came to end in May 2016 and then Steph revealed she was pregnant.
She gave birth to her son on January 13 following a gruelling 48-hour labour.
Her spokesman said at the time: “We can confirm our client Stephanie Davis today gave birth to a baby boy in Liverpool. Mother and baby are doing fine.”
Steph announced the name of her baby boy as Caben-Albi George.
The star said she filmed the birth so she could watch the tape back and thanked fans for their support.
She confirmed to that "my son is one hundred per cent Jeremy's baby".
Who is Jeremy McConnell?
Jeremy and Stephanie dated for a few months following their stint on Celebrity Big Brother in 2016.
She then fell pregnant in following May - and has remained adamant that the child his Jeremy's.
However, Jeremy has always denied the claim, initially declaring Steph wasn't pregnant at all before demanding a paternity test.
He also said he knew he couldn't be the baby's father because he knows she had her period after they split up.
The baby was born while he was on a lads holiday in Thailand and he again approached his ex for a paternity test.
Jeremy gave an exclusive interview to The Sun Online when he finally broke his vow of silence to plead with his ex to finally let him know if he is the rather of little Caben-Albi.
He said; “I do believe I am the father. I want the baby to be mine, I can see a resemblance.
“I never said the baby wasn’t mine, all I said was that there was a doubt because she was with other men in the first two weeks of April.
“Before we went to Cape Verde, we were broken up for two weeks – and I have no idea who she was sleeping with then.”
Jeremy took a live DNA test on This Morning with the help of AlphaBiolabs who are the same company used by the Jeremy Kyle Show.
Jeremy confirmed the baby was his by posting to his Twitter in February.
The former CBB star shared a sweet close-up photo of the tiny tot on Twitter, writing: “I’ll love this monkey with every bit of me.”
Who were the other 'rumoured fathers'?
Joshua Ritchie
Ex On the Beach star Joshua Ritchie has let slip he may also be the father of Steph’s baby when he admitted his concerns that Steph could turn up on his doorstep with her tot.
After speaking on Dan Wootton’s Facebook live, Joshua revealed: “I slept with Steph nearly a year ago.
“I’m worried – she could be turning up on my doorstep with the baby any time soon.”
Later he hit back at one of Steph’s fans who accused him of using her child’s birth as means to raise his profile.
In an expletive-filled tweet he said: “Steph isn’t going favourite your tweet you beggy ugly f****** mug! I’ve spoke to Steph you ugly C***”
X-rated footage of the pair fooling around in bed emerged online last May.
The footage showed him naked and flashing his penis as Steph lies next to him laughing.
However, Stephanie claimed she was already pregnant when it was filmed, and that the baby’s dad is her ex, Jeremy.
Josh later ruled himself out of the running to be the baby daddy.
Scott Timlin
Scott - known to most as Scotty T - is a Geordie Shore lothario who was inside the house when Jeremy and Steph first hooked up.
His MTV co-star, Marnie Simpson, added his name into the hat of potential fathers after she joked that her pal has “fathered a lot of children he doesn’t know about” and Steph’s little boy could be one of them.
The TV beauty wrote: “I’m glad Stephanie Davis has safely given birth – and I can’t wait for Jeremy McConnell to take a paternity test…
“Imagine if he isn’t the father! I heard that Scotty T might be the dad.
“I reckon he’s fathered a lot of babies he doesn’t know about…
“He probably has kids in every country. He’s definitely not mature enough to be a dad, but he’d probably be slightly better than Jeremy!”
Scott then mocked the allegation by tweeting a pic of Star Wars villain Darth Vader, with his iconic catchphrase: “I am your father".
How does DNA testing work?
DNA testing means it can be determined who a baby’s parents are.
It involves taking a sample from both the woman and the man.
This is normally done through mouth swabs rubbed on the inside of the cheek.
These samples are then sent off for testing, with results coming back as quick as 8 -24 hours, depending on how much those involved are willing to spend.
