THIS Morning has hinted Fern Britton could make a comeback to the presenting sofa after her Celebrity Big Brother appearance.

She famously quit the programme in 2009 and fell out with Phillip Schofield - after being replaced by Holly Willoughby.

But now both Phil and Holly are gone and Fern's return to TV on Celebrity Big Brother has been a massive hit with viewers.

Last night they saw her grill Kate Middleton's uncle Gary Goldsmith and even asked the 58-year-old: "Why are you here, how much can you say?"

Fern, 66, then moved on to a sit down chat with Love Island winner Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and got the reality star to open up on her relationship troubles.

This Morning aired a clip of the broadcaster and long-time interviewer in action, and hailed the pro for making great telly.

Current This Morning host Josie Gibson said after watching Fern: "Once a This Morning host, always a This Morning host, she's asking all the questions we want to know..."

Fern has largely stayed out of the spotlight in recent years after moving to Cornwall and she became a best-selling author.

She returned as a guest to This Morning in 2019 to discuss her work away from TV.

But CBB has relaunched her back on our screens - and she's also been mooted for other ITV daytime shows.

Ahead of entering the Celebrity Big Brother house it was reported Fern was set to reveal all about the fall-out.

Phil was axed by ITV in May after admitting to having an "unwise but no illegal" affair with a much younger male colleague.

Fern Britton is the last housemate to join the Big Brother house

In 1999, Fern was given the job full-time and began her stint alongside John Leslie.

Phillip took over from him in 2002. Fern quit the show in 2009 amid reports of tension between her and Phil.

The Sun had previously told how Fern "won't hold back" on the breakdown of her relationship with the show's celebrity chef, Phil Vickery, in Celebrity Big Brother.

It comes after she confessed to insiders about "losing trust" after the end of her marriage in 2020.

Celebrity Big Brother line-up

So who are the 13 stars expected to appear in the Celebrity Big Brother house? The Sun's Jamie Downham takes a look...

Sharon Osbourne - TV legend - who is thought to be on a megabucks deal - said she was doing the show for "a good time not a long time"

Louis Walsh - Irish boyband manager who has never knowingly backed down from a fight. Sure to be a huge presence in the house.

Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu - We know from Love Island, the Ek-ster is not above throwing about some dramatics to claw her way to the final.

Levi Roots - Reggae Reggae Sauce sauce packs a bit of a kick, but its inventor seems quite mild-mannered. Will that change under pressure?

Fern Britton - The former This Morning star called out Phillip Schofield - don't think she won't do the same to anyone who tangles with her.

Colson Smith - You'll probably know him best as Corrie's Craig Tinker - but prepare to find out he's not much like his character.

David Potts - Ibiza Weekender's breakout star is sure to bring a bit of the party isle to the house... but will people appreciate it?

Gary Goldsmith - Kate Middleton's uncle is a big signing for ITV, but very much an unknown quantity among viewers.

Marisha Wallace - Top Broadway star may fill the brief of 'American who doesn't know what they've let themselves in for'.

Nikita Kuzmin - The Strictly pro is coming onto the show fresh off the show's tour. Poor lad probably just wants a rest.

Zeze Mills - the social media star has a "no holds barred interview style"; - which is just what we need in there.

Bradley Riches - The actor played sweet James McEwan in Netflix hit Heartstopper. We'll soon find out what he's really like.

Lauren Simon - She's a Real Housewives of Cheshire star and you don't get on that show by being shy and retiring.
