Jeremy McConnell wants a paternity test ‘as soon as possible’ to see if he’s the father of Stephanie Davis’ baby
JEREMY McConnell wants a paternity test "as soon as possible" to find out if he is the father of Stephanie Davis' child.
The former Celebrity Big Brother star gave birth to her first child, a son, last week, but the Irish model has always questioned whether his ex-girlfriend's claims he is the dad.
The former couple had a rollercoaster relationship after meeting on the Channel 5 reality show last January, and Steph discovered she was pregnant soon after they split.
Following the news she had given birth, Jeremy released a statement to say he would "step up" if he was his son, and now it has been claimed he is keen to find out as quickly as possible.
A source told : "Yes he is looking to arrange this ASAP, but this is time dependant on Steph."
Jeremy said in an exclusive statement to the Sun Online soon after news of the birth broke: "I am delighted that Steph has safely had the baby, of course if he is my son I will absolutely step up and do what I can to support him.
"Any timescale for that is in Steph's hands now.
"I did reach out to her some weeks ago but didn't hear back."
However the new mum was quick to hit back at her ex, insisting he had never made contact like he was claiming.
Her rep told The Mirror: "He has never reached out and she's all alone with her son.
"She is happy, but disappointed and saddened that Jeremy would resort to the media to peddle lies."
Despite their on-going war of words, Steph is clearly loving being a mum, sharing an adorable snap of her son's little hand holding her finger on social media over the weekend.
She captioned the sweet shot: "The day my world became complete.
"Ive been overwhelmed & so in love with you. Words could never describe.
"Thank you for all your support!"
