Danniella Westbrook is attending FOUR Narcotics Anonymous meetings a day as she tries to overcome latest cocaine relapse
The troubled actress opened up about her “year from hell” on Loose Women
DANNIELLA Westbrook has revealed she attends four Narcotics Anonymous meetings a day as she fights back from her cocaine relapse.
The former EastEnders star appeared on ITV chat show Loose Women this afternoon to open up about her “year from hell”.
And the troubled star spoke about turning to cocaine again last year when she developed septicaemia and osteoporosis due to botched dental implants.
But she is doing very upmost to overcome her addiction and told her hosts – Ruth Langsford, Jane Moore, Linda Robson and Lisa Riley – she is regularly attending meetings.
She said: “I cleaned up, fixed up, put myself up in a hotel in Kensington because it’s full of meetings there, I’m doing like four meetings a day.
“Typical addict – gone from using and now I’m addicted to meetings. And now I know what to do is to get into 1990 and get sober and get going.”
And said she can now recognise the signs of an impending relapse.
She said: “I see myself getting lower and then I withdraw, withdraw, withdraw and then I completely withdraw from myself.”
She said the last straw for her was when her son Kai found her unconscious on a bathroom floor after she relapsed on cocaine not long after she split from her toyboy boyfriend George Arnold.
She said: “He (Kai) came over to the hotel I was staying in and said, ‘listen, I’m going to sort this out’, then he went to go out to the studio because he was recording.
“And I just started using. I didn’t think he was coming back and he put the toilet door through and found me on the floor. And I was out, gone. And when I came to I thought, ‘I can’t do this’. I just see the fear in this kid and it broke me. And I cleaned up.”
Speaking about her daughter Jody, she said: “For the last four months, she won’t speak to you until you’re clean.
“She had never seen me ill until she hit 13 and she’d never known me any different. And then suddenly her parents broke up, we moved house, she moved schools and then I was relapsing and her whole world fell apart.”
