Olly Murs’ mum reveals she was left seriously ill and on the verge of a breakdown when son Ben disowned his family over X Factor row

OLLY Murs' mum has revealed how she was left ill and on the verge of a breakdown after a family feud tore her family apart.
Vickylynn Murs, 55, has spoken about how son Ben, Olly's twin brother, broke her heart when he disowned his family when Olly decided to continue on the X Factor rather than quit and go to his wedding.
Speaking to the , she said: "It was such a shock it made me ill. I even thought I had MS - I had to use a walking stick because my legs were so weak. I also couldn't work. I was on the verge of a breakdown.
"I'm much better now but my heart is broken. Ben's broken my heart, and his dad's, but I will not hear anything against him, I don't think he understands what he's done. I'll go on loving him and sticking up for him until I die."
Olly added: "We don't speak to my twin brother and that's been extremely difficult. Long before X Factor there were problems between Ben and his girlfriend and our family.
"He made the decision not to speak to the family... but the door's always open for him to come back."
It comes after Olly was snubbed by the Brit Awards and pulled out of the show's launch.
The singer was all set to perform at the bash but cancelled as soon as he heard he had not been nominated in any category.
A source said: “Olly is gutted. One of his main ambitions is to win a Brit and he really thought he had done enough to be nominated.
“As soon as Olly and his team found out he had no nominations they made the decision to pull out.”
Seething Olly, 32, had a hugely successful 12 months which saw his album 24 Hrs hit No1.
But a music insider said: “Changes in the Brits voting academy this year means the panel is much younger than normal. That has counted against him.”

The 2009 X Factor runner-up has been nominated for six Brits previously.
After missing out in the 2012 British Male category, he said: “It would have been nice to have been given a chance.”
The insider said: “Olly had an incredible 2016. His album topped the charts and outsold Robbie Williams.”
