Gary Barlow admits he “got that one wrong” over Let It Shine favourite Curtis T Johns after giving him four stars
Singer songwriter was one of the stand out auditionees from Saturday night
GARY Barlow has admitted he got it wrong over one of Let It Shine's stand out contestants.
During the second episode of the BBC talent show, which seeks to find five boys to form a boyband for a Take That musical, 22-year-old Curtis T Johns performed Put Your Records On.
He secured 19 out of a total of 20 stars from Gary and his fellow judges Dannii Minogue, Amber Riley and Martin Kemp, with the Take That frontman being the only one to give him a 4 to stop him getting a perfect score.
But it seems after watching the show, Gary had a change of heart about Curtis' performance.
The auditionees fans can breath a sigh of relief though, as the 45-year-old admitted he should have given him five stars as well.
Taking to Twitter, he wrote: "Great talent so far ! Curtis, I got that one wrong [five stars] from my sofa #letitshine".
The star had been bombarded with tweets from viewers who felt he had been too harsh with his four on the show.
One wrote: "@GaryBarlow Curtis is amazing should have got your 5 for a full house. Loving this show #letitshine" while another added: "Gary Barlow running scared... Why didn't he give Curtis 5 stars!!!!".
A fellow viewer agreed, writing: "cmon @GaryBarlow #Curtis deserved 5 [stars] he was outstanding @CurtisTJohns Good luck xx".
Others were just keen to sing the aspiring star's praises, with one writing: "Wow! Sorry but I think Curtis just sung every singer on @thevoiceuk under the table.. #LetItShine #Curtis".
Even host Graham Norton seemed shocked that Curtis didn't get a full house, but regardless of the one missing, he had done more than enough to make it through to the next round.
