Stephanie Davis to name her baby son after a stranger who ‘chatted her up’ while she was out with friends
STEPHANIE Davis is set to name her newborn baby boy after a stranger she met once while out with her friends.
And speaking previously, the star admitted she had already chosen her baby's name, even before welcoming him to the world.
The ex-Hollyoaks actress had previously been really vocal about how she would name her first born after her late granddad.
But after a girls' trip to Jersey, she's decided to name the tot after a random lad.
, she revealed: "I've picked my boy's name! It's not Albi but that will definitely be a middle name.
"I'm going to keep it a secret for now but I will say it's something different – I've not heard it before! It's like a movie star name.
"We got it when I was getting chatted up with my friends recently and he said his name when he left – we just all looked at each other and knew, so thanks to him!
"My mum loves it but my brothers weren't so sure to start with – but I think they want a proper lad's name."
It's a surprising U-turn from the pretty star, as she had been adamant she would honour her departed granddad by keeping his name in the family.
Speaking to OK! Magazine previously, she said: “I definitely think I’ll call him Albi after my granddad. I’d like his middle name to be Patrick. It’s my brother’s middle name and it’s also Irish, so I think it’s a nice nod to Jeremy and his family.
“I got a DVD of the scan and was going to send it to Jeremy but he decided to have no involvement during the pregnancy, so it’s his loss. I went straight to the toilet and cried my eyes out.”
It comes after a spokesperson for Stephanie has told OK! Online: “We can confirm our client Stephanie Davis today gave birth to a baby boy in Liverpool.
“Mother and baby are doing fine.”
Meanwhile, Steph’s ex Jeremy McConnell has refused to confirm he’s the father of her baby, and told The Sun Online in a statement tonight: “I am delighted that Steph has safely had the baby, of course if he is my son I will absolutely step up and do what I can to support him.
“Any timescale for that is in Steph’s hands now.
“I did reach out to her some weeks ago but didn’t hear back.”
