Radio 1 thrown into chaos as Greg James plays ‘sex tape’ live on air

This is not the first time the tape has played out

He rung in to the station and announced: "i'm here," before Greg replied: "You're here!

There was a loud pause before sex tape scenes of a woman moaning could be heard.

Greg let out a loud sigh and said: "Urgh OK," before swiftly closing down the call.

Yet the deed was already done - with many listeners taking to X to comment on their fury that it had interrupted the segment.

One wrote: "My take: it’s such a crap prank."

A second put: "Genuinely boring, unimaginative, and tedious now," as a third continued: "About as funny as a nail being hammered into a hand."

One then added: "If you’re gonna do a prank, at least be original with it."

It came after the same audio clip was used on a Match Of The Day prank in January.

It left host Gary Lineker lost for words as it played out during FA Cup coverage of Wolves versus Liverpool, when pranksters hid a phone on the set.

It was later revealed that a notorious prankster had hidden a mobile phone on the TV set at Molineux.

Daniel Jarvis, who is a serial pitch invader, then activated the sexy sounds ring-tone simply by ringing the mobile as he watched the live pictures on BBC1.

It came shortly after , who left the station last week.

Last week, The Sun exclusively told how , 34, had to join  after quitting Radio 1.
