Who Is Paula Patton?
Paula Patton is a 41-year-old actress, born and raised in Los Angeles, California.
She has appeared in a number of high profile films including gritty biopic Precious in 2009 and Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol in 2011.
In 2016, she starred in the Adam Sandler Netflix film, The Do Over, and appeared as Garona Halforcen in fantasy epic, Warcraft.
When did Paula and Robin Thicke get married?
Paula and Robin had met at the ages of 16 and 14 respectively at an under-21 club on the Sunset Strip in 1991.
In an interview with Howard Stern, they pair explained that Robin asked her to dance and sang Jungle Fever by Stevie Wonder as they pair danced.
They began dating in 1993 and got married twelve years later in 2005.
it was five years later in 2010 when Paula gave birth to their son Julian.
Why did Paula and Robin divorce?
Paula announced her separation from Robin in 2014, after allegations that he had been unfaithful surfaced.
Following the announcement Robin, in a bid to win back his partner of 21 years, named his latest album after her – but the gesture (and the album) flopped.
The only single released from the album was a track called Get Her Back – written about their split.
Paula officially filed the divorce papers in October 2014, and the split was finalised in March 2015.
What is happening in the custody battle?
On January 13, TMZ acquired court documents showing Paula making allegations of Robin being physical abusive to their six-year-old son and filed an emergency an emergency restraining order which states her ex can only see his son during daytime supervised visits.
It is alleged that young Julian told teachers his father had spanked him and “punched” him on occasions – causing the school to report his comments to Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services.
However, Robin has hit back at the allegations and states in documents that both he and Paula agreed on punishment that was “consistent with the law”.
He said in a statement: “On a very rare occasion and only as a last resort, I will use light spanking, but it is consistent with the law – open hand on the butt. This is the type of discipline to which Paula and I agreed during our marriage.”
On Thursday, January 26 it was claimed that Robin had temporarily lost custody of Julian after ex-wife Paula was granted a restraining order against him.
According to , a judge issued a temporary restraining order after Paula accused her ex husband of physically abusing her during their marriage.
Paula was recently spotted looking emotionally drained, as she abandoned the handover of her son Julian to Robin Thicke.
Robin was pictured sitting in his vehicle in the public car park while Paula spoke with the court -appointed monitor.
The star appeared to become emotional during the discussion and eventually left with son Julian still in her custody.
Robin has now reportedly been banned from seeing his son and his ex, as well as her mother Joyce.
However, the singer’s lawyers claimed Paula is also being investigated by the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS).
The site claims Robin’s legal team submitted a declaration claiming there is an investigation into Paula for “emotional abuse.”
The declaration also reportedly stated that Robin’s lawyer had been told by the DCFS lawyer that the agency will close the investigation into Robin because the allegations were “unfounded.”
Paula made a series of shocking claims against Robin, and described an alleged incident last week when Robin demanded to see his son and reportedly refused to leave her mother’s home.
She also claimed Robin hit her and pushed her to the ground, before threatening her, in an alleged incident in April 2013.
Paula also accused her ex of cheating on her during their marriage, and taking drugs.
The order, which also includes claims that Robin has a “history of domestic violence”, will reportedly now continue until a hearing on February 24.
