George Michael’s lover Fadi Fawaz seeking showbiz career just 18 days after finding the pop legend’s body
IT has been a tumultuous 18 days for FADI FAWAZ since discovering the body of his on/off lover GEORGE MICHAEL on Christmas Day.
But amid the drama, grief and a major police investigation into George’s death, I have been surprised to learn that the ex gay porn star is actively seeking a showbiz career.
Fadi has even used his increased profile on the back of the pop legend’s tragic death to reach out to top entertainment agents and PRs, asking them to sign him up.
A showbiz insider revealed: “Fadi wants fame and has seen the amount of coverage he’s had over recent days.
“This week he has been asking a number of high profile showbiz companies and managers to look after his future career.
"It’s a very strange thing for someone to do given he was still in a relationship with George at the time of his death — and in the middle of a police investigation.
“Most of the agents and PRs who have been approached have no interest in looking after him and think the timing is crass and insensitive.”
There is conflicting information and theories about George’s relationship with Fadi, who he has been with in some way since 2009.
Just weeks before the singer’s death, I revealed he was again growing close to ex-boyfriend KENNY GOSS.

They dated for 13 years and George’s close friends believed having Kenny back in his life was crucial to get him back on the straight and narrow.
Based on my conversations over many years with people close to George, I believe it’s what he wanted too, but was unable to because he felt close to Fadi.
A source close to George added: “There was a feeling that somehow, some way, George and Kenny would reunite. Fadi was wrong for so many reasons.
“If he attempts to cash in on George’s death for fame, it would be a real shame. For the sake of his family, you’d hope he’d maintain some class around this.”
Tear-jerking tribute to greats
AFTER a tragic year where the music industry lost some of its most iconic names, this year’s Brit Awards will be tinged with sadness.
I’ve learned that bosses are planning an emotional tribute to late giants DAVID BOWIE, GEORGE MICHAEL and BEATLES producer GEORGE MARTIN at the bash in London on February 22.
A source said: “After so many huge losses to British music last year the organisers thought it was only fitting that they paid tribute properly.
“The focus is purely on homegrown stars, specifically David Bowie, George Michael and George Martin, who have all won Brits in the past.
“It has not been decided yet what form the tribute will take but it’s going to be a tearjerker. There won’t be a dry eye in the room.”
It will be the second Brits tribute to Bowie after Kiwi singer LORDE performed a surprise rendition of Life On Mars at last year’s ceremony, just weeks after his death.
And from what I’m told it is poised to be a big night for the Starman, who is very likely to be nominated in a number of categories including British Male and Mastercard British Album of the Year.
I’m also expecting BEYONCE, DRAKE and KANYE WEST to be heavily favoured in the International sections.
But I’m keeping my fingers crossed for LITTLE MIX, who had a phenomenal 2016 and have definitely earned their first Brit win.
Rearly Selena
GIVEN the year SELENA GOMEZ has just had, it’s refreshing she’s now showing her cheeky side.
The singer, whose struggle with anxiety and depression saw her spend time in rehab last year, posted this snap, from behind the scenes at a photoshoot, on her Instagram.
She sparked rumours of a romance with THE WEEKND this week after they were seen kissing outside a restaurant in California.
Their hook-up earned SELENA an unfollow on Instagram from his ex-girlfriend, model BELLA HADID.
The mother of modern-day snubs.
Sick Pro's a no-show
PROFESSOR GREEN has been having a sick week.
The rapper failed to turn up to a headline show for his record company, Relentless, on Wednesday night after getting norovirus.
He wrote: “I got some rest at about 3 and had an alarm set for 5pm. I woke up at 9pm.”
He added yesterday: “I let down my record label, Relentless, on their 18th birthday party and I feel incredibly s**t about that.”
Get well soon, Pro.
Ed's big comeback
ED SHEERAN will claim No1 and No2 in the charts today with his two comeback singles Shape Of You and Castle On The Hill.
And his inevitable domination of the album chart will start in around seven weeks, after he officially announced his third collection ÷, called Divide, will be released on March 3.
It’s sure to be one of the year’s best-selling albums and Ed’s shown his artistic flair on the cover with the help of artist DAMIEN HIRST’s spin machine.
There really is no end to his talents.
An Una landing
UNA HEALY has good and bad news for fans of THE SATURDAYS.
The good – she kicked off her solo career by visiting Bizarre HQ to perform debut single Stay My Love, out today, live on my Facebook.
The bad – there will be no reunion with FRANKIE BRIDGE, ROCHELLE HUMES, MOLLIE KING and VANESSA WHITE to celebrate a decade since the girlband formed.
Una said: “We will do a private thing.”
For now it’s all about Una’s solo career. Her debut album, The Waiting Game, is out on February 10. It will include some not-so-flattering songs about her husband BEN FODEN.
She said:“Sometimes he asks, ‘is that about me?’ and I say, ‘oh no that’s just about an ex who was a bit annoying’. But it is actually about you Ben, sorry."
Check out her performance on my Facebook page.
Brit keeps the piece
BRITNEY SPEARS’ blazing comeback made her my Bizarre Woman of 2016 – and she’s showing no signs of slowing down this year.
The pop icon launched into her first Las Vegas gig of 2017 on Wednesday as she continues her Piece of Me residency – which began in December 2013 – at Planet Hollywood.
After celebrating her 35th birthday last month she looked as fit as ever while parading a series of racy outfits for the sell-out crowd.
Before the show she tweeted: “It feels so good to be back in Vegas!! Can’t wait to kick off #PieceOfMe 2017!”
She might be marking her fourth year in Sin City, but it hasn’t left a mark on her.

Weekend
TODAY KIM KARDASHIAN is due to make her first professional appearance since her Paris robbery ordeal three months ago. She is joining celebrity make-up artist Mario Dedivanovic in Dubai for his masterclass. Could have picked a more exciting event to make a comeback, Kim.
THE battle of the weekend box office kicks off but I’m sure it will be won by seven-time Golden Globe-winning musical La La Land, starring RYAN GOSLING and EMMA STONE. But there’s plenty to see, with Manchester By The Sea, Underworld: Blood Wars and Live By Night also out.
FOUR weeks after finishing third on The X Factor, 5 AFTER MIDNIGHT are returning to the stage. They will perform memorable tracks from their time on the show at G-A-Y club night at London’s Heaven tomorrow night. Runner-up SAARA AALTO sang at the venue last week.
SHERLOCK comes to a nail-biting finale on Sunday. BENEDICT CUMBERBATCH and MARTIN FREEMAN face a terrifying challenge as an enemy from the past seems to return from the dead. With the stars hinting it could be the last ever episode, it’s not one to miss.
Sheridan's tat tribute
SHERIDAN SMITH made a triumphant return to the stage last night – six weeks after the sad passing of her dad.
With tears in her eyes, the Funny Girl star paid an emotional tribute to her late father Colin and revealed a tattoo on her wrist which read “Daddy’s girl”.
She was the main attraction at the launch of new London bar Bunga Bunga, performing two songs – People and Don’t Rain On My Parade – from the critically acclaimed musical.
The bash, sponsored by Martini, was also attended by DONNA AIR and PRINCESS EUGENIE.
Guests were treated to cabaret from in-house drag act Johnny Sizzle, who Sheridan introduced as BARBRA STREISAND.
It’s good to see her smiling again.
